You've put hours into every stitch. Lets turn your finished canvas into something you'll use and display every day: a bench, a tray, a box or a frame, custom designed around your needlepoint.
Every piece is designed and built by hand to fit your canvas. We'll choose the wood, size and finish together so the woodwork suits your stitching.
Every piece is made by Jonathan Miller in his workshop in Suffield, Connecticut, and we finish canvases for stitchers across the US.
Custom needlepoint frames
How it works
1. Get in touch
Send a photo of your finished canvas and its stitched size, and tell me what you'd like it to become.
2. Design it together
We'll choose the wood, hardware and finish, and I'll send a quote and timeline.
3. Send your canvas
Mail it to the workshop. I recommend insured, tracked shipping. Depending on the project, we either block the canvas in house or outsource it to a trusted finisher.
4. I build and fit it
Your piece is made by hand to fit your canvas, then delivered back to you.
Needlepoint finishing FAQ
How long does needlepoint finishing take?
Timing varies depending on the size and complexity of your finishing project. I work directly with every client to make sure timing expectations are clear and reasonable from the start.
What size canvas fits the needlepoint box?
The keepsake box is made for standard 4 inch ornament-size needlepoint rounds. The wooden backplate magnetically lifts out so you can swap in a different ornament. For other sizes, get in touch and I'll build to fit.
What woods can I choose?
Current options for the standard box include tiger stripe mahogany and figured maple, but if you decide to go the custom route, I will make the box using the wood of your choice.
Do you finish needlepoint for customers outside Connecticut?
Yes. I work with stitchers across the US by mail.
Can you turn my needlepoint into a bench, tray or something else?
Yes. Benches, serving trays and one-off pieces are all possible. Get in touch with your canvas size and idea and we'll design it together.
Benches, trays and more
Have a canvas that would make a great bench seat, serving tray or something else entirely? I'd love to hear about it. Get in touch to talk about your piece, the size, the wood and the finish.
